In this article, we explain error codes found in Toyota electric forklifts (8FB series) that are related to the
Drive / Pump Motor Driver, which controls the onboard charger.

When these errors appear, the forklift may have problems such as:

・Charging stops
・Charging does not start
・Charging power becomes weak

Here, we will explain the three error codes: F7-6 / F7-7 / F7-8.

① F7-6: Onboard Charger Driver Overcurrent

Display: UP LED blinking / Wrench blinking
Detected ECU: Drive / Pump Motor Driver

Cause
This error appears when too much current (overcurrent) flows inside the onboard charger driver.

Forklift Symptoms
・Charging stops

Possible Reasons
・Aged or damaged internal parts
・Overload (too much load on the charger)
・A short circuit inside the charger

② F7-7: Onboard Charger Transformer Cable Misconnection
Display: UP LED blinking / Wrench blinking
Detected ECU: Drive / Pump Motor Driver

Cause
This error appears when the transformer cable of the charger is connected incorrectly,
or not connected properly.

Forklift Symptoms
・Charging stops

Possible Reasons
・Cable connection mistake (common after repair work)
・Connector not fully plugged in
・Wiring deterioration

③ F7-8: Onboard Charger Driver Current Control Error
Display: Wrench blinking
Detected ECU: Drive / Pump Motor Driver

Cause
This error appears when the charger cannot control the charging current properly.
The electric current cannot be adjusted correctly.

Forklift Symptoms
・Charging power becomes weak (low output)

Possible Reasons
・Control circuit failure inside the driver unit
・Sensor malfunction
・Aged parts causing incorrect current control

Summary
F7-6, F7-7, and F7-8 are all errors related to the driver that operates the onboard charger.

These errors are very important because they affect battery charging.
We recommend checking and repairing the forklift as soon as possible.
