ERROR CODE LIST

WELCOME TO TAS FL
This time, we will explain error codes that often appear on Toyota electric forklifts (8FB10–8FB30 series).
These errors are related to a part called the CAN Bridge Controller.
If your forklift suddenly won’t start or the wrench light is flashing, you may see one of these four error codes:
ED-4, FA-1, FA-2, FA-3.

◆ What is the CAN Bridge Controller?
Toyota forklifts have several small computers called ECUs.
The CAN Bridge Controller is the part that helps these computers talk to each other.
It sends and receives information for:
・Vehicle control
・Operation management
・Safety systems
・CAN communication between ECUs
If this part has a problem, the forklift will stop or not start to keep things safe.

The CAN Bridge Controller is very important because it connects all the computers inside the forklift.
So if you see errors like ED-4, FA-1, FA-2, FA-3, the forklift will almost always show authentication failure and will not start.

It is important to check the forklift early.
FA-type errors often mean the controller must be replaced.
If your forklift does not move at all, check:
・Battery voltage
・Connectors
・CAN wiring
If the problem does not go away, please contact a professional technician.
