ERROR CODE LIST – Display ECU Errors①

WELCOME TO TAS FL
In this article, we explain error codes that are found in the Display ECU (the forklift’s screen) of Toyota electric forklifts in the 8FB10–8FB30 series.
If your forklift shows a flashing wrench, the UP LED is blinking, or the screen looks strange,
you may be seeing one of the F1–F8 series errors listed here.

This guide explains them.

①F1 Series – Display Communication Errors

These errors happen when the Display cannot communicate with the Main Controller.

F1-1 / F1-2
Cause:
Communication problem between the Main Controller and the Display.

What happens:
Some display functions do not work
Information may not show correctly

②F4 Series – Display CPU Errors

These errors mean there is a problem inside the Display’s CPU (the small computer inside the screen).

    F4-1 / F4-2 / F4-3
    What happens:
You cannot drive and lift at the same time
If your forklift uses a PIN code, authentication may fail

    F4-4
Only an error message is shown

    F4-5
    Display becomes unstable

    F4-6 / F4-7 / F4-8
Forklift controls (drive, lift, etc.) may act unstable

③F5 Series – Battery Temperature Sensor Errors

These errors happen when the battery temperature sensor or its wiring has a problem.
The forklift can still move, but battery protection functions will not work, so be careful.

F5-1 – Harness open (broken wire)
      F5-2 – Harness short
      F5-3 – Sensor open
      F5-4 – Temperature abnormal

      What happens:
      ・Battery protection does not work
・Battery data logging does not work correctly

④F6–F8 Series – Onboard Charger Errors
      These errors are very common.
If the forklift cannot charge or charging stops in the middle, one of these errors is usually the reason.

F6 Series – Charging stops during charging
        Main causes:
        ・Charger overheating
        ・Safety timer activated
        ・Charging voltage problem
        ・Charger malfunction

        What happens:
        ・Charging stops

F7 Series – Charging start / voltage / current problems
        Examples:
        Charging cannot start
        Charging voltage is too high
        Charging current is abnormal
        Current control problem

        What happens:
        ・Charging stops
        ・Charging cannot begin

F8 Series – Charging completion / system errors
F8-1 – Charging does not finish
Charging should finish, but it does not.

        F8-2 – Charging system abnormal
        System problem → charging stops
