ERROR CODE LIST – Drive Motor Driver Errors①
WELCOME TO TAS FL
In this article, we explain the Drive Motor Driver–related error codes that commonly appear on Toyota electric forklifts (8FB series).
The Drive Motor Driver is an essential component that controls the forklift’s travel (driving) operation.
When a problem occurs in this unit, you may experience:
・The forklift cannot move (travel disabled)
・Lower maximum speed
・Slow acceleration
・Error displayed but operation still possible
Below, we provide clear explanations of
what causes each error and what symptoms you may see.
① Temperature / Voltage Errors (Overheating, PCB Temperature, High Voltage)
■ DCR (A0-1): Main Circuit Temperature Too High
Display: O/H lamp on
Symptom: Travel disabled
→ The main circuit has overheated.
■ A1-2: Drive Motor Driver High Voltage
Display: Wrench blinking
Symptom: Travel disabled
→ Voltage has risen above the allowable limit.
■ A2-2: PCB Temperature Too High
Display: O/H lamp on
Symptom: Travel disabled
→ The PCB inside the driver has overheated.
■ AA-2: PCB Temperature Sensor Error / VCC Short
Display: Wrench blinking
Symptom: Reduced maximum speed / Slow acceleration
→ The temperature sensor may be faulty or shorted.
② Main Circuit / Current Sensor Errors
■ C0-2: Main Circuit Error
Symptom: Travel disabled
→ A typical error indicating a problem in the main circuit.
■ C1-1: Current Sensor Neutral Error
Symptom: Travel disabled
→ The baseline (neutral value) of the current sensor is abnormal.
■ C1-2: Current Sensor Overcurrent Error
Symptom: Travel disabled
→ Excessive current was detected.
③ Motor Temperature / Sensor Errors
■ DM (C2-1): Drive Motor Temperature Too High
Display: O/H lamp on
Symptom: Reduced maximum speed / Slow acceleration
→ The drive motor itself is overheating.
■ C2-2: Temperature Sensor Open / Short
Symptom: Reduced maximum speed / Slow acceleration
→ Likely caused by wiring or sensor failure.
■ C3-1: Main Circuit Sensor Open / Short
Symptom: Reduced maximum speed / Slow acceleration
→ A sensor monitoring the main circuit is abnormal.
④ Rotation Sensor Errors
■ C8-1: Rotation Sensor Open (Disconnected)
Symptom: Travel disabled
■ C8-2: Rotation Sensor Short
Symptom: Travel disabled
→ The forklift cannot read motor rotation correctly, so travel is disabled for safety.
⑤ CPU Errors / ID Errors / Communication Errors
■ CC-1 / CC-2 / CC-3 / CC-4: CPU Error
Symptom: Travel disabled
→ Internal CPU failure in the Drive Motor Driver.
■ CC-6: CPU Error (Display Only)
Symptom: Error displayed, but forklift can still operate
→ A minor CPU abnormality.
■ 32-1: Drive Motor Driver ID Error
Symptom: Error display only, forklift can operate normally
→ An issue with ID recognition or configuration.
■ 33-1: Main Controller → Drive Motor Driver Communication Error
Symptom: Travel disabled
→ Communication between the two controllers has failed.
✔ Summary
Drive Motor Driver errors can be divided into:
・Temperature-related issues (overheating, PCB temperature)
・Voltage / current abnormalities
・Motor or sensor failures
・CPU or communication errors
Many of these error codes can prevent the forklift from moving, making them some of the most critical errors in field operations.
When these errors occur, we recommend checking:
・Temperature conditions
・Wiring
・Connectors
・Sensors
・The Drive Motor Driver unit itself
as soon as possible.
