ERROR CODE LIST – Pump Motor Driver Errors
WELCOME TO TAS FL
In this article, we explain Pump Motor Driver–related error codes that occur on Toyota electric forklifts (8FB series).
The Pump Motor Driver is a critical unit that controls:
- Load handling operations (lifting and lowering)
- Steering assist
When this unit has a problem, you may experience:
- Load operation stops
- Limited lifting speed
- Steering becomes heavy
- Error is displayed, but operation is still possible
In this article, we explain what each error means and what symptoms appear in actual operation, in a clear and simple way.
① Temperature / Voltage Errors (Overheating, PCB Temperature, High Voltage)
■ PCR (A0-2): Load Main Circuit Temperature Too High
Display: O/H lamp ON
Symptom: Load operation disabled, steering becomes heavy
→ The main load circuit has overheated.
■ A1-4: Pump Motor Driver High Voltage
Display: Wrench blinking
Symptom: Load operation disabled, steering becomes heavy
→ The voltage exceeded the specified limit.
■ PCR (A2-3): Pump Motor Driver PCB Temperature Too High
Display: O/H lamp ON
Symptom: Load operation disabled, steering becomes heavy
→ The internal PCB temperature of the driver is too high.
■ AA-4: PCB Temperature Sensor Error / VCC Short
Display: Wrench blinking
Symptom: Load lifting speed limited
→ The temperature sensor may be open or shorted.
② Main Circuit / Current Sensor Errors
■ E0-2: Main Circuit Error
Display: Wrench blinking
Symptom: Load operation disabled, steering becomes heavy
→ A typical error indicating a problem in the main circuit.
■ E1-1: Current Sensor Overcurrent Error
Display: Wrench blinking
Symptom: Load operation disabled, steering becomes heavy
→ Excessive current was detected.
③ Motor Temperature / Sensor Errors
■ PM (E2-1): Pump Motor Temperature Too High
Display: O/H lamp ON
Symptom: Load lifting speed limited
→ The pump motor itself is overheating.
■ E2-2: Temperature Sensor Open / Short
Display: Wrench blinking
Symptom: Load lifting speed limited
→ Likely caused by sensor or wiring failure.
■ E3-1: Main Circuit Temperature Sensor Open / Short
Display: Wrench blinking
Symptom: Load lifting speed limited
→ The system cannot correctly monitor main circuit temperature.
④ Rotation Sensor Errors
■ E8-1: Pump Motor Rotation Sensor Open (Disconnected)
Display: Wrench blinking
Symptom: Load operation disabled, steering becomes heavy
■ E8-2: Pump Motor Rotation Sensor Short
Display: Wrench blinking
Symptom: Load operation disabled, steering becomes heavy
→ Motor rotation cannot be detected correctly, so load operation is disabled for safety.
⑤ CPU Errors / ID Errors / Communication Errors
■ EC-1 / EC-2 / EC-3 / EC-4: CPU Error
Display: Wrench blinking
Symptom: Load operation disabled, steering becomes heavy
→ Internal CPU failure in the Pump Motor Driver.
■ EC-6: CPU Error (Display Only)
Display: Wrench blinking
Symptom: Error displayed only, normal operation possible
→ A minor CPU abnormality.
■ 32-3: Pump Motor Driver ID Error
Display: Wrench blinking
Symptom: Error displayed only, normal operation possible
→ An issue with ID recognition or configuration.
■ 33-3: Main Controller → Pump Motor Driver Communication Error
Display: Wrench blinking
Symptom: Load operation disabled, steering becomes heavy
→ Communication between the controllers has failed.
✔ Summary
Pump Motor Driver errors can be grouped into:
- Temperature-related issues (overheating, PCB temperature)
- Voltage and current abnormalities
- Motor and sensor failures
- CPU and communication errors
Many of these errors directly affect load handling and steering, making them critical in daily operations.
When these errors occur, we recommend checking:
- Temperature conditions
- Wiring and connectors
- Sensors
- The Pump Motor Driver unit itself
as soon as possible.
